چکیده

Free vibration analyses of lattice sandwich beams with general elastic supports have rarely been discussed in this field’s literature. In paper, a unified method is proposed to study the free characteristics under various boundary conditions. The convert three truss cores into an equivalent homogeneous layer and introduce two different types constraint springs simulate support at both ends beams. By changing rigidity restraint spring, conditions can be easily obtained without modifying solving algorithm process. order overcome all discontinuities or jumps associated conditions, displacement function usually as improved Fourier cosine series along four sine terms. On basis, unknown coefficients are treated generalized coordinates solved using Rayleigh–Ritz method. correctness present verified through comparison existing calculation results highly accurate, indicating that suitable for analyzing supports. addition, effects beam length, panel thickness, core height, radius inclination on natural frequencies arbitrary paper.

On the buckling analysis of functionally graded sandwich beams using a unified beam theory

In this paper, a unified beam theory is developed and applied to study the buckling response of two types of functionally graded sandwich beams. In the first type (Type A), the sandwich beam has a hardcore whereas in the second type (Type B), the sandwich beam has a softcore. In both the type of beams, face sheets are made up of functionally graded material. The material properties of face shee...

On Static Bending, Elastic Buckling and Free Vibration Analysis of Symmetric Functionally Graded Sandwich Beams

This article presents Navier type closed-form solutions for static bending, elastic buckling and free vibration analysis of symmetric functionally graded (FG) sandwich beams using a hyperbolic shear deformation theory. The beam has FG skins and isotropic core. Material properties of FG skins are varied through the thickness according to the power law distribution. The present theory accounts fo...

Free flexural vibration analysis of stiffened plates with general elastic boundary supports

The free flexural vibration of a stiffened rectangular plate is investigated by using the finite element method (FEM). In the present model, the plate can have arbitrary elastic boundary conditions and arbitrarily located stiffeners. Numerical studies are conducted to analyze the natural frequencies of concentrically/eccentrically stiffened plates with different boundary conditions and the resu...

A Semi-analytical Solution for Flexural Vibration of Micro Beams Based on the Strain Gradient Theory

In this paper, the flexural free vibrations of three dimensional micro beams are investigated based on strain gradient theory. The most general form of the strain gradient theory which contains five higher-order material constants has been applied to the micro beam to take the small-scale effects into account. Having considered the Euler-Bernoulli beam model, governing equations of motion are w...
